Graduation Day

With a minor delay from pandemic lockdowns, the graduating class of the Splatsin-TRU Indigenous Tourism received their diplomas outside Splatsin Centre on August 8, 2021.

All graduates were greeting by Splatsin Elders, heard an overview of the course and its creation by TRU and course Instructors, and received certificates and thank you packages.

A communal set of refreshments were shared in socially-distant person at Splatsin Centre to commemorate the event.

Instructors, teachers, staff and support workers had a chance to meet with their students for the first time in months of virtual study, making the Graduation Day one to remember.

Also, this was the first public announcement of the creation of the class’s co-op, and introduced the executive to the community!
